THE LONGER GOVERNOR TIM WALZ IS IN OFFICE... THE MORE UNAFFORDABLE MINNESOTA GETS
Minnesota is facing the highest gas prices in history, rising food prices, and increasingly unaffordable housing. Tim Walz doesn’t have solutions, except to tax Minnesotans MORE.

Walz Administration Framing Gas Tax Increase as ‘Debt Service Fee’

Gov. Tim Walz’s Tax Plan Would Hit the Poor More Than the Rich
Tax Burden Per-Income Chart
“The tax plan proposed by Gov. Tim Walz would hit lower income Minnesotans harder than wealthier earners. That’s the outcome of analysis by the Democratic governor’s own Department of Revenue, which carried out a tax incidence analysis of the Walz’s plan includes, among other things, a reduction in state income taxes but increases in business, estate, gas and vehicle sales tax, among other changes.”
Walz Budget: Big Gas Tax Hike
“Gov. Tim Walz unveiled a nearly $50 billion, two-year budget plan on Tuesday that calls for raising the state’s gas tax by 20 cents a gallon — about a 70 percent increase from the current tax.“

Why You Should Oppose a Gas Tax Increase
“Gas tax increases are sold to Minnesotans and, more broadly, to Americans on the idea that “our infrastructure is falling apart so we need more money to maintain it.” But, when you look more carefully, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is perpetually expanding our state’s road and bridge network. Instead of maintaining its existing system, a huge percentage of their budget is going to adding new bridges, new highways, and new highway lanes. After the I-35W Bridge collapsed in 2007, a Minneapolis Star Tribune 10-year review of MnDOT spending showed that “money for road and bridge construction went up every single year, no matter the state’s economic straits.”

“Interestingly, Walz has attempted to raise Minnesota’s gas tax in the past. He once sought a 20-cent per gallon increase over two years. Last year, House Democrats pursued a 5-cent gas tax hike.”

Governor Tim Walz & Joe Biden Campaigned on Helping the Working Class, but Trump's Economy Was Doing Just That...
Trump’s Economy Is Working
“Trump’s approval ratings have drifted upward among nonwhites in the last two years. While it’s impossible to say exactly why, one reasonable explanation is that the U.S.’s long economic expansion has been particularly beneficial for minority workers.”
The Inflation Rate WAS Low in 2019... but it had nothing to do with Governor Tim Walz in a Pre-Biden Economy.

The U.S. Energy Secretary can’t name a single thing that Biden or Democrats like Walz have done to lower gas prices for Americans.
Governor Tim Walz, Minnesota Democrats, and Biden administration has taken a hard stance against domestic fossil fuel production amid the energy crisis.
Walz himself is trying to buy votes by giving out one time checks while supporting measures that would raise gas prices for years to come.
“Governor Walz’s CFS would force the average Minnesota family to pay an additional $210 to $570 for gasoline every year, which entirely wipes out his proposed ‘Walz check.’”
“According to an analysis from Stillwater Associates, a California fuel standard (CFS) in Minnesota would increase the cost of gasoline between 20 cents and 54 cents per gallon and diesel between 20 and 53 cents per gallon.”
Governor Walz also supported the “American Rescue Plan” and continues to support it despite its price tag.
“The American Rescue Plan was signed into law a year ago, helping Minnesota schools recover through investments in summer learning programs and mental health resources. But the work isn’t over – and with my budget, we can continue to rebuild. Let’s get this done!”
The American rescue plan could cost as much as $4 trillion.
“The bill includes several extensions of tax credits that supporters have previously proposed on a permanent basis and several temporary economic relief measures that are slated to end before the economy has fully recovered. If the tax credits were made permanent and these relief measures were extended for the duration of the crisis, it would raise the total cost of the bill to $3.8 trillion through 2031, or $4.1 trillion with interest.”
